I Was Wrong

About the “Fuck Off” t-shirts from our previous discussion. I’m thinking of getting a few of those printed up myself.

You see, this morning I realized: I’m starting to enjoy the death glares, the snide little “nice mask!” mutters I get when I walk around a store without the mandatory Karen Kloth. You don’t like it? Call the cops. Call the store manager, and get me thrown out. Or try to put one on me with your own two hands, and watch what happens.

However it goes, it’s time to step up or shut up, you fucking sheep.

Should I happen to see you wearing that shirt—although, of course, I won’t know it’s you—I’ll avert my eyes and beat a hasty retreat.

Then you’d better choose another font. I doubt sheeple can read Copperplate although I think Gothic would be deliciously wicked.

My state (for now) is still a open carry state. Even though I have a concealed carry permit, I’m seriously thinking it’s time to start carrying the Glock out where Karen can see it. Wonder if she’ll bitch at me for not wearing a mask? Or maybe I should start wearing the tactical balaclava (never a mask of shame!) and have a pistol openly on my hip, which might freak her out more at the grocery store.

Play stupid games and win stupid prizes…

I think that’s next for me – securing my carry permit and openly wearing iron. Like the man said, an armed society is a polite society. Let me help you to remain polite.

(If the “muh guns” dorks ever wanted to do anything other than complain in blog comments, that would be an easy thing to do. Lots of states are open carry, so just… openly carry. A “National Open Carry Day” would send one hell of a message. I’m pretty sure everyone from President Harris on down would think twice about whatever they’re planning if they saw millions of Americans walking around with large hardware).

I’ve gone back and forth on the CCP. I live in an open carry state (for what it’s worth; the state is blue now). My concern has always been that being on a list of CCP carriers is akin to saying “here I am assholes, come and confiscate my property!”) but I could be wrong. What do the 15-20 Readers think about breaking the surface and getting on a government register?

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving, Severian! Keep on keeping on.

I live in a open carry state (it has been that way for a long time). It has been a “constitutional carry” state since 2017, it is legal to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. The state will still issue a concealed carry permit for the purpose of reciprocity with other states. That said, I carried concealed BEFORE the constitutional carry law passed, without a permit. I object to begging the government for permission to do something they have no constitutional authority to prevent. I carry EVERYWHERE except where there is a metal detector. If your carry is truly concealed, it will never be an issue. If you ever do need your firearm, you’re back to the judged by 12 than carried by 6 paradigm.

I did something last evening I never thought I’d do. No person or animal was harmed, but a message was sent to those who would flaunt their mendacity and spit in their neighbors’ faces. It felt kind of…wrong, but not necessarily like a bad wrong, more like the first time I learned how to properly hold and swing a driver. And as with that motion, I assume it will come to feel natural over time – while improving my “game” 100%. They wanted it. They begged for it. Here it comes.
